Dramatic scenes have unfolded on the school run in western Sydney with horrified children watching on as two dads came to blows outside the front gate.
Police were not called to the fight but are currently looking into the punch up between two grown men outside the Northbourne Public School in Marsden Park this afternoon.
The men could be seen in plain view of the public and children finishing school for the day trading blows on the pavement.
It is unclear what sparked the fight but one witness said the men had been arguing shortly before coming to blows.
One of the men in a singlet could be seen blocking a punch as he unleashed his own left hook at the other man.
Schoolchildren in the background were pleading with the men to stop as the melee played out.
About 1200 students were leaving at the time the fight broke out outside the school, which has only been up and running for a year.
The fight was only broken up after two staff members and two dads intervened to pull the men apart.
Both men continued to yell obscenities at each other in front of the children.
The Department of Education said: “Northbourne Public School called the police this afternoon after two parents were involved in a physical altercation outside the school. No students or staff were involved or harmed.”
