It comes as The Daily Telegraph can reveal the embattled MP sent an invoice to Ms Matthews where he threatened to throw her possessions in the dam and invoiced her for accommodation at his house.
Ms Matthews has applied for an Apprehended Violence Order against Mr Latham which will be heard in court at the end of the month, where she alleges he engaged in a “sustained pattern” of abuse.
In Ms Matthew’s AVO application she alleges Mr Latham borrowed $20,000 from her “on four occasions without prompt repayment.”
In one transaction seen by The Daily Telegraph, Ms Matthews transferred $20,000 to Mr Latham on October 11 last year, with the transaction titled “gift to friend nat.”
It’s understood Ms Matthews also covered at least $15,000 worth of hotels and restaurants for the couple.
None of the direct payments have been disclosed by Mr Latham on his declarations in the NSW Legislative Council.
Under parliamentary rules state MPs are required to declare debts, including loans and certain gifts, exceeding more than $500. It’s unclear whether the arrangement between Mr Latham and Ms Matthews falls within this scope.
However - they do not need to disclose if the money is owed to a “relative” - which includes a de facto partner.
This week Mr Latham described his relationship with Ms Matthews as a “situationship”, while further insisting they had an “arrangement.”
Politicians who spoke to the Telegraph suggested the rules were a “grey area” but said that if Ms Matthews had loaned Mr Latham significant amounts of money, he should have disclosed it.
The Daily Telegraph can also reveal an email sent by Mr Latham in November 2023 to Ms Matthews titled: “Latham Emergency Timely Storage Rental of Opportunists’ Things”, which serves as an acronym for “LETS ROOT.”
“For: Services, Storage, Squatting, March-November 2023, itemised as follows…” the email from Mr Latham reads.
“42 nights accommodation for Nathalie Matthews (naked), 29 mornings breakfast-inner and other personal services… @$50 per night = $2,100. “Three months storage of: two large computer screens, keyboards and cords, 11 dresses, one ‘It’s a Latham Thing’ sloppy joe, 6 boxes of shoes (non-shiny), 9 G-strings, assorted lingerie… assorted smalls and toiletries = $2,900” his email read.
Mr Latham said there had to be payment “within 21 days”, otherwise stored materials would be “thrown in the dam… or impounded permanently.”
In September 2024 Ms Matthews wrote twice to Mr Latham requesting amounts totalling $9,000 be returned.
“Can you please repay me so I can sort accommodation,” Ms Matthews wrote.
After another request Mr Latham responded “will try”, before adding “nowhere you can go rent free, like you did here for 12 months?”
After their final separation in June, when Ms Matthews requested some of her items be collected from Mr Latham’s home, he wrote “you bought those things when you lived in the house rent free.”
Both Mr Latham and Ms Matthews were approached for comment
