Body pulled from the Parramatta River in Sydney’s west

A man’s body was pulled from the Parramatta River on Sunday night.

A man’s body has been pulled from a western Sydney river after he fell from a nearby bridge on Sunday night.

The man was pulled from the water of the Parramatta River near Church St about 7.10pm after reports he had fallen into the river from the bridge.

Police pulled the man from the water and tried to resuscitate him but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man has not yet been formally identified.

Footage of the incident showed police standing on the grass of the riverbank as a sheet was placed over the body, with locals wandering across a nearby footbridge watching on.
Police are not treating the death as suspicious.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner on the man’s death.
