An elderly man has died in a house fire in southwest Sydney.Police say the man’s body was found inside the Ambarvale home after firefighters and other emergency workers were called there about 12.40am.

An elderly man has died in a house fire in southwest Sydney.
Police say the man’s body was found inside the Ambarvale home after firefighters and other emergency workers were called there about 12.40am on Saturday.
An 80-year-old woman was taken to Campbelltown Hospital for monitoring while a 56-year-old man was taken to Liverpool Hospital with burns to his hands and face and smoke inhalation.
The house was significantly damaged. Investigators will probe the cause of the blaze once the home is declared safe, police said.
