A manhunt is under way for two intruders who were spotted prowling around a home near KIIS FM radio host Kyle Sandilands’ house in the well-heeled Sydney suburb of Vaucluse overnight.
Police were called to Coolong Rd shortly before 2.30am following reports of a break-in, where two men were seen on the property.
The family inside — a man, woman, and two children — were unharmed during the incident.
Kyle Sandilands, woken by his security system’s intruder alerts, shared the chaotic experience on his radio show Tuesday morning.
“I got home last night at about 8.45pm and just missed putting the baby to bed, which is always disappointing,” he said.
“And then around 2.30am, I got woken up by my security guy with intruder alerts on the perimeter of the home.
“So different sounds go off in my house depending on if people are getting onto the property, or if they’re in the house, or any of that.
“They were the police. The police were there,” he said.
Sandilands noted that his street has been the target of numerous break-ins, particularly on the wealthier side where he resides.
“Apparently, a lot of people on my street last night were getting robbed — not on the poor side of my street, but on my side, the wealthiest side,” he said.
“There are some big-name people on my street. I’m the brokest bi**h on my street... We’ve got billionaires.”
According to Sandilands, police descended on the area in force, with dozens of officers and police dogs searching for the intruders.
“There were about 30 cops on my street. It’s pandemonium,” he said.
“They were jumping over fences with dogs... They asked if they could run the dogs through my place because there are little doors under the house.”
The two intruders remain at large, and police investigations are ongoing.
