Man swept from rocks at Brooms Head on Monday unable to be saved by witnesses
A man has been swept off rocks and drowned at Brooms Head today, despite the efforts of witnesses and first responders. Here’s what we know.

A man has been swept off rocks and drowned near Brooms Head in the Clarence Valley, despite the efforts of witnesses and first responders.
Emergency services were called to Brooms Head lookout, some 25km southeast of Maclean, about 12.30pm on Monday after reports came in the man had been washed off the rocks.
The man believed to be aged in his mid-50s “was found unresponsive in the water” and could not be revived by those who rushed to his aid.
He had not been formally identified by Monday afternoon, NSW Police state.
Coffs/Clarence Police District set up a crime scene and have launched inquiries into the circumstances of the man’s death.
A report will be provided to the Coroner.
