Man drowns at Lake Parramatta
A man’s body has been found in a western Sydney lake after a large-scale rescue effort.

A man drowned at a lake in western Sydney on Monday evening.
About 6.30pm emergency services arrived at Lake Parramatta near North Rocks Rd, Parramatta after reports a man had gone underwater at the popular swimming spot but failed to re-emerge.
A large search was sparked, with a Toll Rescue helicopter searching the lake from above while Marine Command police, local officers, Fire and Rescue NSW firefighters and paramedics searched the water from the ground as dusk fell.
NSW Ambulance spokesman confirmed several paramedics had attended the scene but no one had been transported for treatment.
Police were seen speaking to several men at the scene as the search continued.
Three hours later, the body of a 23 year-old man was found in the lake.
He hasn’t been formally identified yet, and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
