A VEGAN who went on a drunken rampage following an early morning Maccas run terrorised staff forcing them to bar the doors to the store after they refused to serve him 200 chicken nuggets.

Kole Olsen, 30, yelled at McDonald’s drive-thru staff “I want my f***ing nuggets” after he was told he could not order them because they were serving breakfast.

Appearing before Hornsby Local Court today Olsen pleaded guilty to high-range drink driving.

The court heard he terrorised staff at Thornleigh McDonald’s, on Sydney’s leafy north shore, circling the drive-through, yelling out abuse and honking his horn, before ordering 200 hash browns and paying $230.

According to the agreed statement of facts Olsen did receive his 200 hash browns — the manager hand-delivered them to him after he had left the drive-through and parked his orange Ford Falcon.

When the manager went to the car, though, he found the front seat empty and could see Olsen walking towards the front of the store.

He quickly caught up with Olsen and handed over the large order then retreated to the store, locking the doors and waiting for police to arrive.

When the manager of the store tried to talk to Olsen he yelled at him “You are f***ing gay” and then parked his car and began screaming at the cafe window.

He demanded a refund for 200 fries and Big Macs, which he had not ordered, and screamed “I am going to f**k you all up”.

At this point the manager of the store was forced to close the doors and shelter inside the store with staff until police arrived.

Olsen, from Epping, blew 0.175 when submitted to a breath test by police and back at Hornsby Police station continued to be hostile, telling officers to “Go and suck a c**k”.

The Kiwi national, who has been living in Australian for seven years, went on the early morning Maccas run after he woke up hungry following a big night out with friends at a party and found nothing in the house to eat.

Magistrate Daniel Reiss seemed surprised Olsen had even thought to visit McDonald’s.

“I thought he was on a vegan diet?” he said.

Olsen’s lawyer Elizabether Wye told the court her client was sticking to his diet when ordered the 200 hash browns.

“My understanding is that hash browns are a vegan food,” Ms Wye said.

During his sentencing remarks, Magistrate Reiss described the incident as “quite disturbing” and questioned whether drugs might have been involved.

“It is bizarre for someone who has drunk that amount of alcohol to behave like that in the morning. It sounds like drugs and mental health to me,” Magistrate Reiss said.

“Police reported you had bloodshot eyes and your pupils were dilated.

“It was fairly wild and out of control behaviour.

“You are lucky you didn’t kill yourself or someone else in the process here.”

The court heard Olsen had previously been convicted of a drink-driving charge when he was a teenager in New Zealand and was sentenced to community service.

He was placed on a 12-month good behaviour bond, had his licence suspended for nine months and was fined $1000.

Leaving court, Olsen remained tight-lipped about why he went on his early morning drunken rampage.

He stayed silent when asked if would apologise to the McDonald’s staff he had tormented, and would not say if he will ever be eating at McDonald’s again.
