A MAN has been charged after a clandestine laboratory was discovered and more than $900,000 of “ice” seized as part of a police investigation. Five properties were raided in western Sydney following the discovery.

A MAN has been charged after a clandestine laboratory was discovered and more than $900,000 of the drug “ice” seized as part of a police investigation.
Following extensive investigations, detectives arrested Hong Kiet Quan, 37, from Wentworth Point, at a park on Jamieson St, Silverwater, about 8am yesterday.

During a search of Quan and his vehicle, investigators allegedly discovered 1.3kg of ice.
Shortly after the arrest, police raided five properties at Fairfield and Wentworth Point.
During the searches, police seized ammunition, more than $10,000 cash, 460g of ice, small quantities of prohibited drugs, precursors, drug paraphernalia, a cigarette lighter disguised as a firearm and mobile phones.
In total, the estimated potential street value of the ice seized was almost $900,000.
At the Fairfield property, investigators allegedly found a clandestine laboratory and dismantled it.
Quan was taken to Auburn Police Station and charged with large commercial drug supply, three counts of commercial drug supply and drug supply-indictable quantity.
He was refused bail and appeared at Burwood Local Court and is due to reappear on September 19.
Police inquiries are continuing.
