A man will face court today charged over the discovery of 31 unregistered firearms and thousands of rounds of ammunition during a raid on a property in the NSW Riverina region.

A man has been charged following the discovery of dozens of unregistered firearms and thousands of rounds of ammunition at a property in the NSW Riverina.

Police raided the home on Reka Rd, Adelong yesterday afternoon following a tip-off and found 30 unregistered long arm firearms, an unregistered pistol and a can of OC spray.

Ammunition and 12 registered firearms which belonged to the occupant were also seized.

The resident, a 57-year-old man was arrested and taken to Tumut Police Station where he was charged with several offences including possess over three unregistered firearms and holder of category A or B licence not have approved storage.

He is due to appear at Wagga Wagga Bail Court today.
