Man arrested after wife found dead from single stab wound in Merrylands home
An elderly man has been charged this morning after the body of his wife was found in a western Sydney home last night.

An elderly man has been charged this morning after the body of his wife was found in a western Sydney home last night.
The 73-year-old man attended Merrylands police station just after 10.15pm where he spoke with police officers.

It is understood he provided information that led to the grisly discovery.
The 63-year-old woman was found at a Leigh St property in Merrylands a short time later suffering a single stab wound to her chest.
Attempts were made to revive the woman but she died at the scene.
Police said the pair was married. The home was cordoned off as officers investigated the woman’s death.
The man’s car was also examined outside Merrylands police station.
Neighbours said they did not hear any noises from the home during the evening.
