Man, 61, charged with stabbing 82-y-o in Alexandria pub fight

A 61-year-old man has been arrested and charged after allegedly stabbing an 82-year-old man at a pub in Alexandria on the weekend.

A 61-year-old man has been arrested and charged after allegedly stabbing an 82-year-old man at a Sydney pub on the weekend.
Emergency services were called to the Camelia Grove Hotel, in Alexandria, at about 3pm on Saturday after reports an elderly man had been stabbed.

The two men were known to each other and had been arguing before the younger man allegedly pulled out a knife and attacked the 82-year-old.

He was rushed to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a critical condition and underwent emergency surgery. He is now in a stable condition.

The 61-year-old immediately left the pub after the alleged attack.

At about 3.15pm on Sunday police went to a residence at Kembla St, Wollongong, and arrested the 61-year-old.

He was refused bail to appear in Wollongong Local Court today.
