Blueprints for a major commercial warehouse and logistics hub have been revealed for a booming western Sydney suburb.
The $51 million Access Logistics Park by Altis Property Partners, submitted for 928 Mamre Rd, Kemps Creek, earmarks the construction of a massive commercial subdivision made up of 16 lots alongside a 37,000sq m warehouse and distribution centre.
“The proposed Warehouse and Logistics Hub would operate on a 24/7 basis over 16 industrial allotments, comprising one warehouse or distribution centre on Proposed Lot 2, carparking, estate access roads and associated landscaping,” a planner for the project said. “Industrial development on the remaining proposed allotments will be subject to separate subsequent development consents.”
The planner said the proposal would result in a “low impact addition” to the Western Sydney Employment Area at Mamre Rd, creating 300 construction jobs and 460 full time jobs on completion.
“The Proposal will provide positive social and economic benefits to the area and support large-scale industrial and warehousing development within an area earmarked for such purposes,” he said. “The Warehouse and Logistics Hub’s state-of-the-art design, equipment and technologies will provide industry-leading energy efficient performance solutions.”
The Mamre Road Precinct was rezoned in June last year and, when completed, will see as many as 17,000 ongoing jobs.
A NSW Planning representative said the rezoning of the precinct preserves around 95 hectares of land for environmental conservation and open space and protects a site for a potential Western Sydney freight intermodal terminal (IMT).
