MALCOLM Turnbull and embattled Nationals leader Barnaby Joyce have held crisis talks in Sydney following their public spat over Mr Joyce’s affair with a former staffer.
The Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister met for an hour in the Commonwealth Parliamentary Offices earlier today.
Sources say the pair agreed to meet following the damaging fallout from their tit-for-tat press conferences in Canberra this week.

The meeting comes after Turnbull said Mr Joyce had displayed a “shocking error of judgment” in his affair with his staffer Vikki Campion.
Mr Joyce hit back yesterday, describing the prime minister’s comments as “inept” and “unnecessary”.
Earlier today Mr Joyce was spotted filling up with petrol at a service station in Goulburn on his way to the meeting.
