FORMER Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has left Australia for New York just days after officially resigning from parliament in the wake of being dumped from the top job.
Mr Turnbull and his wife Lucy were seen at Sydney International Airport this morning.

The Daily Telegraph revealed on Thursday that the Turnbulls were escaping the political heat in Australia for New York, where they own a two-bedroom apartment in an 1930s art-deco building on the Upper West Side, overlooking Central Park.
They are expected to stay in New York for about six weeks.
Mr Turnbull formally resigned from Parliament on Friday.
