A WOMAN accused of crashing her car into a Greenacre primary school classroom, killing two boys and injuring others, is facing further charges including manslaughter.
Maha Al-Shennag, 52, was initially charged with two counts of dangerous driving occasioning death and negligent driving occasioning death after her Toyota Kluger ploughed into a classroom at Banksia Road Public School just after 9.15am on November 2017.
It’s alleged Al-Shennag was behind the wheel when Jihad Darwiche, eight, and a nine-year-old classmate were critically injured and died.

Seventeen children and a teacher were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics.
Two eight-year-old girls and a nine-year-old girl were taken to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead with serious injuries.
A day after the crash, police added the charges of dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm and cause actual bodily harm by misconduct.

Following investigations, Al-Shennag was today issued a court attendance notice for two counts of manslaughter and further charges of negligent driving occasioning death and cause actual bodily harm by misconduct.
The manslaughter upgrade came after investigators consulted with Director of Public Prosecutions.
She is due to appear at Burwood Local Court on July 11.
In the days following the crash, and after victim Jihad Darwiche’s father publicly forgave her in a video posted on Facebook, Al-Shennag issued an apology through her lawyer Nick Hanna.
“Ms Al-Shennag wishes to apologise with all of her heart to Mr Darwiche and to each of the victims, their families and the community in general,” the November 10 statement said.
“Her thoughts and prayers are with all of those affected by this tragedy.”
