THE CHRONICLE sport team were patrolling the sidelines at the weekend.
Here’s our pick of the weekend’s top performances.
GARTH MILLER (HOCKEY)
Scored a hat-trick to help Stafford’s Strikers to their first win of the Club Glenvale Challenge season.
A nice touch followed up by a conversion on the extra attempt got him on the board, before a nice touch from a short corner gave him a hat-trick, and more importantly his side the win.
TAHSSIN AL QASO (FOOTBALL)
Rockville’s Al Qaso was unplayable in his side’s TFL Conference Men’s clash with Laidley Lions.
After picking up his first goal in the 61st minute, Al Qaso had five goals to his name by the 87th in Rovers 11-2 win.
LUKE HELLYER (RUGBY LEAGUE)
If the TRL was running SuperCoach, people would be rushing to get the Newtown front rower into their squad prior to round one.
He got through a mountain of work for the Lions, taking the tough carries for his side and lifting Newtown to victory against Brothers.
TOOWOOMBA RANGERS (BASEBALL)
It’s impossible to single anyone out from the Rangers after all three teams finished in the top two of the GBL’s regular season.
They all combined to keep a perfect record at Commonwealth Oval, and head into the finals with a wave of momentum behind them.
SARAH SHERIDAN (FOOTBALL)
The Rockville attacker was everyone in her side’s 5-0 Kappa Women’s Super Cup demolition of Holland Park Hawks at the weekend.
Sheridan was dangerous early in the game and opened the scoring with a pinpoint strike that beat the Hawks keeper at the near post in the 13th minute.
She doubled her tally with a thunderous strike in the 25th minute and secured her hat-trick in the second half.
