GRIDIRON: With just one game left of the Gridiron Queensland season, the Toowoomba Valleys Vultures are hoping to close out their year on a high.
They will travel to the east coast to take on the Moreton Bay Raptors at the Deception Bay Sports Centre tomorrow, with the home side desperate to keep its finals hopes alive.
The two sides met back in round seven at Herb Steinohrt Oval, with the Raptors coming out 25-6 winners on that occasion.
They were well in that contest, trailing just 7-6 at halftime courtesy of a Mitch Erbacher rushing touchdown.
Unfortunately, they were unable to go on with the job, conceding three second-half touchdowns to concede defeat.
A win tomorrow would give Toowoomba its second win of the year, after downing the Logan City Bears in round 11.
The Vultures will be hoping for a stronger attendance for their final match of the season, with just 17 players taking the field in last weekend’s heavy defeat to the Griffith Thunder.
Player availability has been a recurring issue throughout the season for the Valley Vultures, with the team left to fend against full-strength powerhouse units from across southern Queensland.
