BASKETBALL: A pair of dazzling individual performances have put an exclamation mark on the final round of the Toowoomba Basketball League.

The Southern Cross Bricklaying Eels solidified the minor premiership with a 96-81 defeat of the Westridge Warriors.

Ben Toohey shot the lights out, scoring 42 points, including 16 in the fourth quarter to open up for a big win.

It was finished with the Washed On James Mustangs, who snapped a two-game losing streak with a 129-82 demolition of the Pump Panthers.

Isaac Wormald also dropped 42 points, including 10 three-pointers. He chipped in with 13 first quarter points to help the Mustangs open up an 18-point lead after 10 minutes.

That gives the Eels a path straight into the grand final in a fortnight, where they’ll meet the winner of the Mustangs and Warriors next week at Clive Berghofer Arena.

The Mustangs hold the advantage over their opponents, winning three of four games in the regular season, however the Warriors won the last encounter.
