Harristown State High School footballers Maddison Teakle and Jahrem Richardson have been named in School Premier League football representative teams to face some of the state’s best young players.
In the clashes, the SPL girls will play the QAS while the SPL boys will take on the Roar under 16s at Meakin Park.
Both matches will be livestreamed at

With Roar representatives on the sideline, Richardson hopes the match will give him the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of a famous Harristown graduate.
Like recent Brisbane Roar retiree Daniel Bowles, Richardson is a tall centre back with good ball skills.
“I’d love to emulate what Daniel has done,” Richardson said.
“He’s a bit of a role model for me because he went through Harristown Academy, and I’d love to play professionally one day just like him.
“This game is a really good opportunity to show the Roar what I’ve got, hopefully something comes out of it.”
Teakle hopes her “box-to-box” style of play will impress the QAS and Roar.
“It’s a great opportunity to be recognised,” the Lions FC midfielder said.
“I’ve been working really hard at school and with Lions this year.
“I’m really looking forward to the game.”
Schools Premier League co-chairman Sean Curtis said the aim of the games was to reward the best performers through the SPL season with a representative jersey, while also giving them an opportunity to be identified by both the Roar Academy and QAS talent scouts.
“We have the Roar coaches and a QAS selector coming to watch the matches,’’ Curtis said.
“It is the first time we have done this, and for us to get livestreaming and get this competition going through COVID-19 has been a great thing.’’
