"Any team would automatically get the support of the community right across the board."

THE Brisbane Lions dominate Toowoomba and the Downs' Aussie rules landscape.

Any AFL team, however, that chose to base themselves in the Garden City would garner plenty of support, according to Toowoomba Tigers women's coach Neville Jericho.

"I think it would be absolutely fantastic to have a team here in Toowoomba," he said.

"Any team would automatically get the support of the community right across the board.

"COVID-19 would obviously restrict what they could do but I think you'd see volunteers from all our clubs offering their support to make the transition easier."

Unfortunately for the long-time Essendon fan, his Bombers will be based on the Gold Coast, but he believes any team's presence would be beneficial to the game.

"The Brisbane Lions camps are always beneficial for the players and the coaches," he said.

"Just being able to watch the way they do things and listen to how they get their information out there is amazing.

"That would be the same for any club."
