The Chronicle looks at the weekend stars across the region
THE CHRONICLE was out and about at the weekend – looking out for the region’s top athletes and teams.

Don't miss out on the headlines from Sport. Followed categories will be added to My News.
Here’s our latest top five.
CHRIS GILLAM (CRICKET)
It’s not pleasant at the best of times to bowl to Chris Gillam, let alone when he’s in an attacking mood.
Gillam’s first five scoring shots were as follows: 6, 4, 4, 4, 4.
He went on to score 90 as Wests chased down their total at a run rate of 8.5 per over.
SKYE BOGENHUBER (RACING)
The ‘Queen of Clifford Park’ is starting to regain her place on the throne.
After returning from injury, Bogenhuber has ridden winners at all three Clifford Park meetings, including a double at the weekend.
Her steer on Count The Coin was a cracker, navigating a path approaching the bend to turn a potential bad beat into an effortless win.
RANGERS BATTERS (BASEBALL)
It’s too tough to narrow it down to just one person, given the way the Rangers piled on the runs over the weekend.
B-grade scored 14 at home to All Stars, while C-grade chipped in a handy 17 on the road to Narangba.
They haven’t been giving opposition teams a chance in recent weeks.
JOSHUA CRESTANI (FOOTBALL)
An ever present at fullback for Stanthorpe United, Crestani has stopped his fair share of goals this season.
His save at the weekend, though, could be the defining point of his team’s season.
Crestani replaced keeper Jamie Carnell, who was shown a red card, in the 31st minute of his side’s semi-final clash with Willowburn.
He saved Alastair McGorm’s penalty and his team went on to claim a 1-0 win and the first spot in the TFL Premier Men’s division grand final.
KIAMA GRAY (FOOTBALL)
The Willowburn captain was a standout in her side’s 1-0 semi-final win over Highfields.
Gray opened the scoring in the 57th minute of the game – converting from the penalty spot – her fifth goal of the season.
Pushing forward in search of an equaliser, Highfields peppered the Willowburn goal with a barrage of long balls and Gray was at the heart of her side’s resistance.
