Kisukano heads the list of local equine nominations, finding herself in the running for the Two-Year-Old Horse of the Year.

Trained by Michael Nolan, Kisukano won four of her six starts as a juvenile, including defeating fellow nominee Rothfire in the $500,000 QTIS Jewel at the Gold Coast.

Fresh after a tilt at Sydney riches, Niccanova (pictured) received a nomination in the Four Years and Older Horse of the Year category.

Niccanova had a stellar season under the care of Steve Tregea, resulting in two wins from eight starts.

His wins both came in Listed company (Bernborough Stakes and Brisbane Handicap), along with placings in the Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap, Group 2 Victory Stakes and Group 3 Eagle Farm Mile.

On the riding front, Baylee Nothdurft is a leading contender for the Jockey of the Year award.

Rising to the ranks of a senior jockey, Nothdurft claimed both the state and metropolitan premierships for the 2019/20 season.

Nothdurft was also nominated for Apprentice of the Year.

The dominance of Tony Gollan in the training ranks was enough to earn him a nomination in the Trainer of the Year category.

Gollan’s season to remember saw him train 157.5 winners across Queensland, as well as 108.5 metropolitan winners, becoming the first person to break the 100-win mark.

Sky Racing will broadcast the awards on October 19.
