TENNIS: The region’s best young tennis players took to the courts at USQ to secure their places in UTR State Finals,
The Hooper Accountants South JDS UTR Regional Finals featured the winners and runners up of five previous JDS events held in the region this year, with the pool to narrow down to 16 players who were selected to play in Brisbane at the UTR State Finals in 2021.
Off the court the young players heard from Rob Barty
The junior playing pathway in Queensland is one that is very familiar to Rob, father of world No. 1 Ash Barty, who shared his remarkable story of bringing up a grounded world-class athlete.
The Junior Development Series (JDS) forms part of the Tennis Queensland Road to Brisbane, giving players level based match play opportunities and a chance to qualify for the state finals.
