BASEBALL: The Toowoomba Rangers year has finished with an anticlimax.
All three Rangers fixtures across divisions four, five and six were abandoned due to wet weather, putting a premature end to 2020
The decision to cancel fixtures was particularly disappointing for the A-grade Rangers, who were set to host Wests at Commonwealth Oval and have the opportunity to make ground on the ladder leaders.
Had the game gone ahead, it would’ve been the first clash between the top two sides from last season.
Toowoomba currently sits in fifth on the division four ladder after recording a big 12-2 defeat of Carina last week.
B-grade will head into the new year without a loss to its name, going through the first half of the season with a perfect 8-0 record.
C-grade has made a big start to its return season in the GBL, dropping just one game to sit in second on the division six ladder (8-1).
