BASEBALL: It might seem a bit early to call a pre-Christmas game a must win encounter.
However in the context of the GBL division four, the Rangers need to come away with a victory in their road clash this weekend.
Toowoomba slid to fifth after its defeat to Pine Rivers, and heads to Runcorn chasing redemption against the ninth-placed Indians Mano.
Captain-coach Luke Ardill said this week was a case of going back to basics as they look to cut errors out of their game and remain mentally strong for the entire contest.
“We had a chat about just going back to basics,” Ardill said.
“Some of our errors shouldn’t have been made. We need to work on our communication between our players.
“We had a good chat about our mental fortitude. Calls aren’t going to go our way every time. We need to keep playing the way we can play.”
The B-grade Rangers will return home to Commonwealth Oval to take on the Mt Gravatt Eagles in a blockbuster encounter.
The two sides are the only remaining undefeated sides in division five, with top spot on the line on Sunday.
C-grade suffered its first defeat of the season last week, and gets the chance to bounce back on the road to the Indian Mohicans.
