The Chronicle’s Sean Teuma takes an in-depth look at Saturday evening’s meeting at Clifford Park.

BEST BET

Race 7, No 1: BELTANA

Strikes a nice field for his maiden race start, and if he gets across from a wide barrier, looks hard to beat.

VALUE BET

Race 1, No 1: TISANI MAGIC

Has to carry a big weight, but the booking of Skye Bogenhuber gives me impression Kevin Kemp thinks the horse is going well. Hasn’t missed a placing at Clifford Park and handles the wet.

FORM ANALYSIS

RACE 1

Kevin Kemp has opted not to claim with TISANI MAGIC, who will carry 62kg. He did enough first-up in open grade and will appreciate the big drop in class, as well as any potential rain on Saturday. MOSCINI was fair first-up at Warwick in a strong race, and has a good second-up record. TRAIL OF GLORY gets in well at the weights with just 56kg on her back, but needs to lift from her return here a fortnight ago.

BET: Tisani Magic each-way

1, 5, 9, 2

RACE 2

CINCINNATI RED is the latest former Victorian to join the Mark Currie stable and it wouldn’t surprise to see him make a winning local debut. His last start at 1300m was a good fourth at Swan Hill. COURTING VERITY made her Queensland debut for Troy Pascoe after also coming up from Victoria. She received a great ride from Brad Stewart at the Sunshine Coast, but faces a tricky barrier here. THE IRONS is impossible to leave out of multiples.

BET: Cincinnati Red each-way

5, 7, 2, 9

RACE 3

I like the drop in distance for NO NO NINETTE, who didn’t appear ready for the trip last time at Ipswich. Was a solid winner here two starts prior when just sitting behind the speed. DRAGON MISS has never been out of the placings in six starts, and should figure in the finish despite drawing the carpark. FOREVER VOLO was strong on debut and can go on with it.

BET: No No Ninette to win

4, 7, 3, 1

RACE 4

IN YOUR ELEMENT wasn’t up to the standard of the Toowoomba Cup last start, but has had a month off since that run. Carries just half a kilo more for a drop back to BM60 grade. RHYME TIME was very good at the Gold Coast last start when third, while GOTTA BE FIRST has been in the placings in two recent runs here over distance.

BET: In Your Element each-way

3, 4, 2, 1

RACE 5

A tough race to find a winner in. MR BROSE could be the one. Was second behind Avowal two starts back. That horse should arguably be unbeaten. Finished off okay at the Sunshine Coast a fortnight ago. COUNT THE COIN started favourite here on October 17 and made good late ground behind Forver Volo. GOLD JET was also in that race and finished off well from a clear last.

BET: Mr Brose each-way

4, 2, 8, 7

RACE 6

PERSIAN KING found a fast-finishing Issaquah too strong last weekend. Will sit prominent from an inside draw. LET’S BOOM is as honest as the day is long, and it wouldn’t surprise if she was finally able to break through at start 25. HE’S ALL READY is another Victorian import for Troy Pascoe, and his Victorian form is enough to feature prominently in a race like this.

BET: PERSIAN KING to win if he gets a start, HE’S ALL READY to win if Persian King is balloted out

10, 12, 6, 3

RACE 7

There’s a few first starters in this one, and those with exposed form haven’t set the world on fire. BELTANA is a first starter from the Lindsay Hatch yard, is well bred and you would expect Justin Stanley to send him to the front from a wide barrier. BLUE HARMONY was second to Simply Fly on debut and ran well at Ipswich at her second start. Has been primed for this with a trial win.

BET: BELTANA to win

1, 8, 6, 7

RACE 8

A very tricky race to finish the night off. THIRTEEN BUTTONS was last spotted winning a trial at Hawkesbury over a year ago. SINGLE RISE was beaten almost eight lengths behind Dis Dah Wun in a trial. BEATING DRUM was sent out a favourite here at her second start, but could only run into fourth.

BET: None

6, 2, 5, 3
