The Chronicle’s Sean Teuma takes an in-depth look at Saturday evening’s meeting at Clifford Park.

BEST BET

Race 3, No 3: ZAITEKI

I think she’s placed very nicely in this event. Has some class and can put herself right in the race. Looks hard to beat.

BEST VALUE

Race 2, No 7: GLOBAL FACTOR

Had some good form prior to finishing last at Doomben. Will appreciate the drop in class.

FORM ANALYSIS

RACE 1

A solid field for the Provincial Series Heat. DENARIUS goes on top for mine. The old boy has been racing well in stronger grade of late and can sit handy in this field. Gets into a nice barrier if emergencies are scratched. COLPO DI TAMBURO has been racing well without a great deal of luck this preparation. If things go his way he can take this out.

BET: Denarius to win

7, 3, 5, 4

RACE 2

I’m thinking GLOBAL FACTOR goes up at a decent price. Her form prior to his last-start failure at Doomben was good for a race like this. Races well at her home track and this looks her right distance. GOOD GRAB has to be in the mix after back-to-back wins here. There’ll be some pressure up front but he can show a lot of early speed.

BET: Global Factor each-way

7, 2, 6, 4

RACE 3

ZAITEKI looks to be expertly placed here. She’s been racing well in better races than this and benefits from the claim of Kyle Wilson-Taylor, who rode a double here last week. The barrier is the only issue, but I think she has the ability to overcome it.

BET: Zaiteki to win

3, 7, 5, 1

RACE 4

Shapes as one of the more open races on the card. MR BROSE was a nice winner at Roma last week after missing the start here the start prior. MAGIC IN ME was a good winner prior to going for a spell, and LITTLE MISS PIXIE has shown enough to feature in a race like this.

BET: No bet

4, 1, 2, 6

RACE 5

The first of the 870m Maiden events. BETTER IN THAN OUT was well supported on debut at Warwick but could only manage third. Will take improvement from his first prep. COALBANK CAVALRY was very good last start when second here, however will struggle to get a start as fourth emergency. Has to be respected if he gets a run.

BET: No bet

3, 12, 7, 5

RACE 6

I don’t like this race at all and couldn’t possibly entertain getting involved.

BET: No bet

2, 1, 11, 9

RACE 7

LOUIE LA’JOY can be tough to catch at times, but this looks his race. Led them up at Doomben before fading late. Had two very nice wins prior to that and the drop back to a mile shouldn’t be a negative. THE IRONS is honest and will again figure among the finish.

BET: Louie La’joy to win

1, 3, 4, 6

RACE 8

Tricky race to finish the night off. GRAZIANO led them up and booted away first up here for the new stable and lost no admirers when third at Beaudesert. MBAPPE was scratched here last week, and if runs has good enough form to be taking this out. DREAM POLICE and I’M CALLIN’ DIBS are also major players.

BET: No bet

2, 4, 1, 3
