HOCKEY: Newtown and Red Lion have set the pace in the men’s COVID Cup to date, and tonight the pair prepare to lock horns.

Both sides have enjoyed undefeated starts to the modified season coming into tonight’s fixture.

The two have enjoyed an intense rivalry in recent times, with the pair fighting out the A1 grand final last year, with Red Lion prevailing in a thrilling encounter.

In the women’s fixture, both Red Lion and Newtown will be searching for their first win of the season.

Red Lion went close last week, drawing with Norths, while Newtown enjoyed the bye.

Two men’s teams that are also searching for their first success of the year are Rangeville and Norths.

Both are 0-2 for the season coming into their encounter tonight.

The Rangeville women are looking to maintain their unbeaten run when taking on Norths.

The defending A1 women’s champions were last seen edging past Red Lion a fortnight ago.
