RUGBY LEAGUE: A handful of fixtures have been amended for the upcoming Toowoomba Rugby League season.

The draw was released last month, with the league to now have six fixtures each weekend due to the addition of Newtown as the competition’s 12th team.

Small changes have been made from the initial release of the draw to accommodate for ground availability.

The first change occurs on the opening weekend of games on March 21 and 22, with Goondiwindi vs Dalby shifting to Saturday and Pittsworth vs Brothers moving to Sunday.

The round six clash between Newtown and Dalby on May 9 has been moved to the Jack Martin Memorial Complex, with Dalby RLFC set to host the return fixture in round 18 on August 8.

Round 11 will now see Pitsworth vs Gatton take place on Saturday June 13, with Goondiwindi vs Wattles to take place on Sunday.

The only further changes anticipated involve venue changes, with Clive Berghofer Stadium unavailable for Southern Suburbs during rounds 10 and 11 for their fixtures against Dalby and Oakey respectively.

Toowoomba’s largest stadium has a full schedule throughout the winter months of 2020, with Western Mustangs playing their games out of the venue, as well as the South West Queensland Thunder.
