RACING: The biggest day on the racing calendar is finally here, and The Chronicle has assembled a team of experts to help you find a winner in the Melbourne Cup.

ANTHONY COLLINS (SKY RACING) – Anthony Van Dyck – I liked the way he fought out the finish in the Caulfield Cup with Verry Elleegant. Out to the two miles should suit the imported stayer down to the ground.

KENT WOODFORD (TOOWOOMBA TURF CLUB) – Tiger Moth – He comes from the same lines as Rekindling (2017 winner) – a young horse that is lightly raced with a light weight. His win in the Group 3 was pretty dominant and he was good behind Santiago prior.

JAMES O’SHEA (RACING NATION PODCAST) – Russian Camelot – Has had a perfect preparation, not too dissimilar to that of Fiorente (2013 winner). The formula of the northern hemisphere three-year-olds, profiles well from the race.

GET OUT STAKES (GETOUTSTAKES.COM.AU) – Russian Camelot – He jumped out of the ground in his Derby win in Adelaide earlier this year. Has been set for this race and will be ridden more patient than in the Cox Plate.
