RACING: Jockeys have pledged their allegiances to their respective zones after Racing Queensland’s new implementation.
Hoops had the option to choose which zone they would like to compete in for then foreseeable future, or were allocated one based on their residential address.
In slightly different circumstances to training zones, jockeys have been split up into five zones, and are only permitted to ride in their allocation.
Among the list of those that have claimed base at the Toowoomba Turf Club are Skye Bogenhuber, Kenji Yoshida, Nick Keal and Nathan Evans.
A number of metropolitan jockeys have also entered for the zone, including Michael Cahill, Matthew McGillivray, Ryan Maloney and Glen Colless.
The first meeting for the zone will take place at the Gold Coast on Friday, with Clifford Park to host a meeting on Sunday.
