RACING: The Lindsay Hatch and Justin Stanley combination has formed one of the leading dynamic duos in recent times at Clifford Park.

The two again came to the fore on Saturday night, combining for a pair of winners on the card.

It started in the best possible fashion, with Trail Of Glory ($2.50 fav) saluting in the opening race of the evening, the Moore Lewis and Partners Benchmark 70 Handicap (1210m).

Having her second start for Hatch after previously being under the care of Tony Gollan, the five-year-old relished the step up in distance.

Settling midfield, Stanley asked her to go heading into the home straight and the mare responded, scoring by 1 ¼ lengths from Voulait ($5).

“She really improved immensely from her first-up run, and I feel like she’s improved again,” Hatch said.

“There’s a similar sort of race in a couple of weeks here for her.

“As long as she holds it together, we’re looking forward to placing her around in races around this region.”

The double was completed in the staying event on the program, the Totally Baked Grand Central Benchmark 60 Handicap (1880m).

Rhyme Time ($2.45 fav) was the subject of strong market support after luckless runs at Ipswich and the Gold Coast.

Sitting just behind the speed, Stanley was able to lift the progressive four-year-old to her third career win, edging out Basil ($7) by a half-head.

“She’s been unlucky at her past couple of races,” Hatch said.

“She pulled hard at the Gold Coast but was able to get out to a distance. She’ll go for a break now, she’s done a terrific job this prep.

“I think she’s pretty effective from 1600-1700m. She’s a Class 3 horse so hopefully there’s a midweek or Saturday metro in that grade, and we will see if she can measure up.”

Skye Bogenhuber also finished the night with a riding double, aboard Count The Coin and Blue Harmony.

Slowly away in the Peta Sorensen Bookkeeper QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap (1300m), Count The Coin ($2.15 fav), looked to be too far back approaching the bend.

Just as soon as Mr Brose ($2.45) looked to pinch a winning break, the Kevin Kemp-trained gelding unleashed a powerful finishing burst to score by 2 ¼ lengths.

Blue Harmony ($1.60) was sent out as the shortest priced favourite of the night and didn’t disappoint punters, winning by 2 ¼ lengths to take out the Happy 50th Angus Corke Maiden Plate (870m).

# ANGELA Jones made an incredible start to her riding career at Dalby.

With four rides on the card, the apprentice rode three winners with another second in a memorable debut.
