RACING: Michael Frappell believes handy type In Agreement can take the next step at Ipswich tomorrow.
The gelding got off the mark at his third career start at the track on Easter Monday, and his sights are now set on the Sky Racing Class 1 Plate (1350m).
“He’s one of the main chances I would think,” Frappell said.
“The form is tough to put together at the moment with horses coming from all sorts of races and a lot are in races that don’t suit them
“I would think he should be right in it. It was a good, tough effort last start and he’s probably stepping up to the right distance.
“I believe he can win.”
The four-year-old got off the mark in a head-bobber after making the running throughout the event.
It continued on from collecting a runner-up cheque at Warwick the start prior behind Barney’s Law, who has since been placed behind Vanna Girl in open grade.
The form-line bodes well for Class 1 company, and Frappell said the step up from six furlongs will also work in his favour.
“The form is there. On debut he was in an 870m race at Clifford Park. He missed the start and got carted wide before working to the line pretty well,” he said.
“I thought he did enough at the 1100m second-up at Warwick. It took a good horse to beat him and I thought that was a good enough effort to win.
“It’s going to be a little bit easier to find the front tomorrow. He looks to have a fair bit of pace on these and I’m hoping the 1350m suits him.
“He had to do a fair bit of work to maintain the lead early last time, and I wouldn’t think anything will head him.”
