HOCKEY: Fairholme College has continued its stellar hockey season, claiming the All Schools girls competition at Clyde Park.
Coming up against a tough St Mary's, Maryborough side, the Toowoomba school was able to strike early, with Brianna Suey giving them the lead inside three minutes of play.
Fairholme was able to hold onto a 1-0 lead at the break of the shortened game consisting of two 10-minute halves.
After a long ball fell just out of reach of Peppa Carter, Fairholme had to defend their hearts out to hang on.
Right on the stroke of full-time, St Mary's was awarded a penalty corner, which was blocked by Tatum Stewart.
They were awarded two more after the final siren, with Stewart's defence again stronger than a brick wall, as they added further silverware to their Darling Downs Cup success in May.
In the boys final, Centenary Heights State School finished tied at 1-all with Emmaus College, before going down 4-2 in a shootout to see them finish second overall.
