American Crown ($1.50 fav) made a mess of rivals at Clifford Park’s Melbourne Cup day meeting, taking out the Carpetone Toowoomba Class 3 Plate (1000m) with ease.
Fresh after dominating rivals at her previous start to the tune of five lengths, the five-year-old was again able to dictate terms in front, racing away to score by 2 ¾ lengths to Heart Of Kings ($5), with Hallside Hot Stuff ($3) in third.
Saddle Boy ($1.90) made it a profitable start to the day for favourite punters, scoring by a big margin in the Enterprise Legal Maiden Handicap (1000m).
Under the urgings of Ron Goltz, the gelding raced away to score by 3 ½ lengths for trainer Paula Davidson.
Ryano ($3) relished the drop in grade from recent contests, recording a resounding victory in the Findex Toowoomba Benchmark 52 Handicap (1300m).
Backed into favourite for trainer Matt Boland, Ryano picked up her second career victory in comprehensive fashion, putting seven lengths on her rivals.
The day out for favourite punters was continued when Sarasun ($1.90) made light work of the quick back-up to claim the Laser Clinics Australia Class 1 Handicap (1650m).
The gelding finished fourth behind Rhyme Time on Saturday evening.
