SOFTBALL: The youth of the All Stars has come to the fore in the Toowoomba Softball Association, and the side is looking to keep its electrifying run going.
Their latest success came in the form of a defeat of the Warriors/Devils, as they look to stretch their unbeaten streak this weekend.
A1 men’s assistant coach George Hardaker said the way the youth and experience has come together has helped the All Stars to put it together on the field.
“We’ve got a good group of young and talented players such as Lincoln Walk as pitcher and Nick Davis as catcher,” Hardaker said.
“It takes nine on the field and everyone plays well together.
“We have a couple of juniors and U17s boys coming up through the grades, and they’re getting a lot out of this season.
“Even if it’s sitting on the bench, they’re still learning from players that keep teaching them.”
Hardaker credits a cohesive team approach behind the team’s recent strong form, as they look to maintain their momentum against the Aces this weekend.
“That’s where it starts. It has to come from them,” Hardaker said.
“Everyone has been communicating well, which is something that we’ve been lacking (in the past).
“We just play as a team and have a laugh as we learn. If you can learn one thing on the diamond at the end of the day, I’m a happy person.”
