Wet weather forced the postponement of fixtures a fortnight ago, and the All Stars women have found themselves on the end of two narrow losses to start the season.

With one of the more inexperienced rosters across the league, club president Lindy Masters said they are adjusting to the rigours of A-grade.

“We’ve got a lot of young players and we’re pushing to get the number of players we need,” Masters said.

“We want to give those girls the opportunity to play A-grade. There are some really talented youngsters at the club, and the more games they play the better they’ll understand the game.”

This year has also seen the anticipated arrival of Bianca Markham into the A-grade level.

Despite being just 14, Markham boasts an impressive resume at the junior level, including representing Toowoomba at the association level, playing for the Queensland schoolgirls and earning selection in the Queensland U16s squad.

“We’ve been waiting for her to be od enough to play in the opens,” Masters said.
