EARLIER: : A Beaconsfield woman who spoke with a young girl about 30 minutes before a fatal hit and run says she is devastated at the tragedy.

Mandy Death, who lives in Beaconsfield Estate opposite Nicklin Dr where a 15-year-old girl was killed about 3.20am Sunday, was on her way to work when she spoke with a teen girl.

Ms Death, a mother, said she was concerned it may be the same girl.

"I was leaving for work and I saw her walking at the end of the estate towards Beaconsfield Road," Ms Death said.

"When I got in my car and drove up to her, she sat down at the end of the estate.

"I thought this was really strange, she's a young girl at three o'clock in the morning.
