AN OAKEY man's alleged attempt to abscond from a taxi without paying his fare saw him arrested only hours after he was released from the Toowoomba Magistrates Court.
Highfields Police OIC Stephen Gillinder said his officers had executed a search warrant at a Kalimna Drv address in Kleinton, on July 30.
They located drug utensils, including an incorrectly stored syringe.
Police also located a 22-year-old Oakey man who had breached his bail.
He was arrested and later appeared in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court where he received a $250 fine.
"Upon being released from the court, the male caught a taxi from Toowoomba to Kleinton," Sgt Gillinder said.
"On arrival he fled on foot without paying for the fare."
Police arrested the man a short time later and charged him with fare evasion.
He was given a notice to appear in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court later this month.
