LIVING with type one diabetes can be tough.

Apart from the daily medical necessities just to survive and thrive like other people, there are also many misconceptions surrounding the condition.

So when JDRF hosted the One Walk for Diabetes, not only did members of Toowoomba's diabetic community and their supporters get together for a fundraising and awareness event, but local singer-songwriter Josh Arnold also decided to turn his hand to writing a song about it.

The song, "Tightrope", was written with the help of a group of students with type one diabetes and launched at a special event at Urban Grounds after the One Walk event.

The song chronicles the struggles of keeping sugars under control and the myriad medical procedures that simply become part of life for sufferers.
