LOVE and loss will be explored during the Hooked on a Feeling cabaret opening tomorrow night at the University of Southern Queensland Arts Theatre.

The musical concert is the creation of nine USQ students and will focus on the progress of love affairs.

"There were around 5000 or more songs that we could have used but we came up with 20 or so that take you from the beginnings of falling in love all the way to things that could go wrong," USQ lecturer and project director Helen Russell said.

"Every student has had to participate in writing the music and arranging it."

The concert is part of the students' assessment and the show performed every year with a different theme.

"The whole process has taught us what it takes to make a show from scratch," bass player Brittania Clifford-Pugh said.

"We've had to work together and it's brought us closer as a cohort," singer Megan O'Brien said.

The group will perform tomorrow night and on Friday at 7.30pm. To book tickets visit http://ora.cl/Ts7bb.
