WHEN you're working on a film, most of what you see comes on small screens, so while it's good to finish an assignment and hand it in, it's showcase night that offers the biggest thrill.
That was the case for USQ film and television students, who recently staged the annual showcase of their finest work.
Head of Film Leonie Jones said it was a wonderful feeling for students to not only see their work on a big screen with great sound, but also see how it's received by an audience.
More than 200 people turned out to see the films at the USQ Arts Theatre and Ms Jones said it was a great success.
"It's very nerve wracking because they've been working with a project over 13 weeks to bring it to fruition and they've been looking at it on small screens the whole time," she said.
"Then to see it up on the big screen with a live audience is such a different experience.
"Our audience really got into these films."
She said seven short films went on show with a wide range of subject matter, from the hilarious to the challenging and poignant.
