A LOT has changed in the decade since Angela Morgan began her role working for the Toowoomba City Library and one of those things is our country beginning to embrace Halloween.

One part of Mrs Morgan's job is working with community feedback to provide events tailored to the needs of the city's young people.

A simple Halloween story time a decade ago was met with a lukewarm reception, where this year so many people were begging for a Halloween celebration it was time to give them just what they asked for.

The result was a full day of fun, games and activities, special demonstrations and the event was even coupled with this year's Toowoomba Hospital Foundation Zombie Walk.

"We have two to three big engagement events a year and this was definitely one of the biggest," Mrs Morgan said.

"It was our first Halloween event but the community had been asking for it.

"Ever since we moved into the new building we've heard 'why aren't you doing something for Halloween?' so it's interesting to see how Toowoomba has changed."

She said the biggest event the library had hosted to date was the Toocon pop culture festival and there were big hopes to revive it next year.

Next on the list of exciting events is Galactic Fest on January 18 next year.
