FOLLOWMONT Transport has applied to Toowoomba Regional Council to establish a transport depot and warehouse at Rielly St, Torrington.

The proposed building will be used to warehouse goods prior to dispatch by road transport.

Cleaning and servicing of vehicles will occur within the warehouse building, and administrative functions will be performed within the office component.

Amenities on-site are limited to services for administrative staff and refreshment areas for drivers.

Plans lodged with Toowoomba Regional Council show the warehouse will take up a gross floor area of 2900 sq m, while the office will be 300 sq m and the amenities area 93 sq m.

Up to 25 vehicles, of varying sizes, will be parked within the yard.

The site will cater for 10 office staff and 20 warehouse staff.

Followmont Transport is a family-owned, Queensland transport company, providing freight forwarding and logistics services across Queensland and New South Wales.

Followmont Transport purchased the land on which they are proposing the new warehouse from Hodge Holdings at the Proximity Business Park development in Torrington.

The council is assessing the application.
