FLOWER power has taken over Toowoomba's parks, its restaurants, shops, and even its beer.

For the fourth year in a row, 4 Brothers Brewing has put together a floral beer as a way of celebrating Carnival of Flowers.

This year, 4 Brothers Brewing managing director Adrian Cubit said the boutique brewer had decided to go with a rose ale.

"We've got these organic rose petals. We threw some into the boil and then some in while it was fermenting to try get a bit of rose flavour," he said.

"I expected we might get a bit of colour, but it's all flavour, and we've tried to make (it) as subtle as possible."

Meanwhile, the crew over at Volcanic Brewing have created their inaugural carnival beer.

They've opted for Queensland-sourced wild hibiscus and pineapple as their carnival ingredients, creating "our very favourite sour yet".
