THE State Government has released the results from the first round of COVID-19 testing at Karinya Place aged care home in Laidley.
Tweeting this afternoon, Deputy Premier and Minister for Health Steven Miles said all tests performed at the nursing home had come back negative.
A staff member of Carinity-run Karinya Place tested positive for COVID-19 on the evening of September 2.
Speaking about the case on Thursday morning, Queensland Chief Health Officer Dr Jeanette Young praised the facility's handling of the situation, saying they had done everything correctly.
Dr Young said the staff member was potentially working during the most infectious period of the virus - when they were asymptomatic.
But once they developed symptoms they immediately isolated.
But she also said the facility had a COVID-safe plan, which meant all staff were using PPE.
Moving forward, Dr Young said she believed the facility had spare capacity they would be using to make sure each resident had their own amenities.
"The staff member worked in a staff area. They didn't have contact directly with any of the residents, so the staff members they did have contact with will all go into quarantine."
