A NEW decade has arrived and we here at the chamber are excited for another exciting year working with our members and sponsors.
Toowoomba Chamber is an independent and inclusive member organisation, that seeks to create a vibrant environment where local business can grow and thrive – overall strengthening our region’s business community.
Today is day two, week one of my role as CEO of your chamber.
In the coming weeks my focus will be to connect with, listen to and understand the challenges and opportunities of our members and the business community.
Removing red tape, local supplier priority for government contracts and ongoing infrastructure investment has already been raised with me as key challenges.
I urge all businesses in the Toowoomba region to reach out for support from the chamber so we can collectively unite to address these and other challenges and create new opportunities. As the independent voice of business in the region, the greater our member base the more influence we can have on matters that impact on business in the region.
I am looking forward to the position and working with business owners, city and community leaders, and the chamber board and team.
As I have said before, with Toowoomba’s diverse economy, which includes strong industries in health, renewable energy, professional services, food, agriculture, freight and logistics just to name a few, along with its local, national and global connectivity presents economic opportunities like few other places in Australia.
These attributes provide massive potential for business growth and job creation in our region and the chamber is here to assist in turning this potential into reality.
Chamber looks forward to welcoming our members to our first Business at Dusk networking event on Wednesday January 29 with our foundation partner, the University of Southern Queensland.
