A FAST-growing and popular ridesharing app can now be used by Toowoomba residents, after the company launched in the Garden City.
Ola has announced customers can start using the app in Toowoomba, just a few weeks after revealing it was coming to the region to compete with Uber.
Toowoomba is one of five regional areas across Australia that Ola has launched into, including the NSW Central Coast, Newcastle, Ballarat and Bendigo.
Ola Australia and New Zealand managing director Simon Smith said the company had received solid interest from Toowoomba drivers to join the app.
“We’ve seen strong interest from rideshare drivers in the Toowoomba area so far, and are expecting to see the number of cars on the app grow over the coming weeks as more drivers join us for the new zero per cent commission offer,” he said.
“We’re excited to bring Ola to Toowoomba, giving the people of this city a new option for getting around town over the busy holiday period, and helping drivers make more money for Christmas.”
Customers will also get 30 per cent off all rides in Toowoomba for the first two weeks, as well as $20 credit when they refer a friend.
Drivers who sign up early will also be able to claim 100 per cent of their fares for four weeks if they register before New Year’s Eve.
