Just 43 votes are standing in the way of the Liberal Party losing another blue-ribbon seat to a Climate 200 challenger.
Bradfield in Sydney’s north shore is one of the last remaining seats still not called after the federal election on May 3.
As of 3pm on Thursday, Liberal Gisele Kapterian was ahead by just 43 votes.
She’s facing off with returning Teal challenger Nicolette Boele.
The seat was previously held on a 2.5 per cent margin but has become an even tighter contest after sitting MP Paul Fletcher announced his retirement in December last year.
Just over 93 per cent of the votes have been counted.
If at the conclusion of the count there are less than a hundred votes separating the two, there will be an automatic recount from the Australian Electoral Commission.
It comes as another Liberal vs. Teal contest tightened with Tim Wilson’s lead over Zoe Daniel in the Melbourne seat of Goldstein dwindling down to 293 votes.
Mr Wilson was at one point leading by more than 1000 votes in an embarrassing blow to Ms Daniel who had claimed victory on election night.
That lead has fallen significantly.
